Our simple quote process allows a quote to be processed within a matter of seconds. Do not worry if you do not want to buy the policy straight away – your quote is valid for 30 days so you can always log back into your account and purchase the policy later.

Instant Receipt of Policy Documents

We understand, especially for commercial drone operators, that having a copy of your insurance policy documents is extremely important when performing a drone operation. Therefore, we email you a copy of your policy documents as soon as you have purchased your policy online. And don’t worry if you misplace this email, your documents will always be available to you when you log in to your online account.

Online Renewal Process

At the end of a twelve-month cover period, you will receive an email reminder before the existing insurance policy lapses. A simple log-on to the Coverdrone system will then enable you to amend policy details (if required) and renew without any fuss.

Ability To Amend Policies

With our new system, you don’t need to contact us to let us know that you would like to make an alteration to your equipment cover or the limit of indemnity you require, you can simply log onto your account and make the change yourself! You will receive your amended policy documents straight away via email and also a copy will be available on your online account.

24 Hour, 7 Days A Week Access

Although our team are always more than happy to help, we unfortunately cannot be available 24/7. The beauty of the online management system is that you are not limited to office hours to make a change to your policy or to get a new quote – you can log in at any point!

Short Term Cover

Coverdrone is well-known for its industry leading annual policies, however we also offer a flexible short-term solution for both commercial and recreational drone operators. Goodwood Aerodrome and Across Safety Development partner to provide unparalleled facilities to the UAV industry

An exciting new partnership sees the launch of the Aviation Innovation Centre at Goodwood Aerodrome, providing the UAV industry with a solution to develop, test, trial and showcase emerging technologies.

It’s the first of its kind in the UK, coming at a time when the aviation industry is focusing heavily on the development of commercial unmanned technology and with the UK CAA seeing a significant increase in UAV operation approval requests.

With a focus on the UAV, UTM and UAM sectors, the Centre brings together a wide range of services and facilities that include:·

  • Segregated airspace to facilitate BVLOS operations. Availability currently includes a 9km radius circle around the aerodrome, providing a 270km2 range over largely rural areas
  • A selection of ‘off-aerodrome’ landing sites in controlled areas within the segregated airspace area to facilitate UAV delivery trials
  • Aerodrome facilities including Air Traffic Services, 3 grass runways, on-site firefighting service and in-house security services
  • A controlled ground area within the aerodrome perimeter
  • Short or long-term access to offices, meeting rooms and hangar space
  • World class event hosting facilities

The centre also provides expert support to help customers with:·

  • CAA submissions, permissions and exemptions such as preparing ConOps, Operating Safety Cases and Specific Operational Risk Assessments (SORA)
  • An on-site CAA certified Recognised Assessment Entity providing online and classroom-based pilot training and certification as well as specialist courses such as ‘multi-crew co-ordination’
  • The availability of qualified remote pilots and observers

Goodwood Aviation Operations Manager, Mark Gibb said:

We’re delighted to partner with Across Safety on the launch of the Aviation Innovation Centre at Goodwood Aerodrome.  Our range of facilities combined with the industry expertise of Across Safety offers the ideal solution for organisations’ developing, testing, trialing or showcasing unmanned aviation technologies. Our aim is to be Europe’s leading UAV technology centre.

Across Safety Development’s Managing Director Anthony Venetz said:

The unmanned aviation industry is at a pivotal moment, with commercial unmanned aerial systems, urban air mobility, unmanned traffic management and counter drone systems all predicted to grow exponentially over the next few years. There is a clear need for a centre that supports technological and operational innovation without lengthy delays related to establishing safe airspace and ground areas. Goodwood, within easy reach of London and Gatwick is the perfect location to do that.

6 Figure investment provides Networx3 drones with most accurate 3D maps available in the UK

ARPAS-UK Member, Networx3 Drones is soaring to new heights following a six-figure investment that will allow it to produce the most accurate 3D maps available in the UK.

The Lancashire-based business operates a fleet of five cutting-edge drones nationwide working for clients such as the emergency services, water companies and energy suppliers.

The new service is now possible after Networx3 Drones started using the world’s first adaptive flight planning app for commercial drone missions coupled with data analytics.

Using this bleeding edge technology Networx3 Drones’ fleet can now capture thousands of photos during a pre-programmed drone flight to create a new, larger photo map.

These high-detail and high-resolution orthomosiac maps offer a distortion-free representation of an area that’s true to the geography on the ground. They are so accurate that they can be used to measure distances between points because they capture real-world conditions.

Networx3 Drones managing director Ian Ashworth said: “Using this emerging technology massively expands what we can do with our drone fleet. We’ve already had interest from the construction and insurance industry and we can see this being used to give a 3D view of any land, property or water.

MD Ian Ashworth builds orthomosiac map

“The level of detail on the maps we produce is phenomenal. You can see individual roof tiles, rivets on a mobile phone mast and points on a railway line.

“We can record, inspect and survey skyscrapers, bridges, reservoirs, landfill sites, quarries, solar farms, cladding, agricultural land and then produce a 100% accurate digital map for clients like they’ve never seen before.”

Compatible drones from the Networx3 Drones fleet use an app, from autonomous flight software company Hammer Missions, to complete a pre-programmed flight which guarantees 100% coverage of the land or water it’s mapping.

This data is then transformed into an orthomosiac map using software from data analytics experts gNext Labs.

The orthomosiac map service is part of a £100,000-plus investment in Networx3 Drones over the last 18 months.

As part of a major expansion Networx3 Drones now has five qualified commercial drone pilots and a £45,000 drone control vehicle which is home to its hi-tech drones, mapping software and a two-person operations hub.

The new service is being showcased on the Networx3 Drones website: https://www.networx3drones.co.uk/services/drone-mapping
