CHIRP is the Confidential Human-Factors Incident Reporting Programme.
The aim of CHIRP is to contribute to the enhancement of aviation safety in the UK and maritime safety worldwide by providing a totally independent confidential (not anonymous) reporting system for all individuals employed in or associated with these industries.
For drones, the aim is for what are, in some cases, relatively new members to the world of aviation, drone pilots, to benefit from safety reporting practices developed within the other more traditional aviation sectors.
CHIRP has recently published it’s 2nd edition of aviation feedback relating specifically to drones.
The Drone/UAS Programme Manager for CHIRP is Rupert Dent, also the Regulation Director for ARPAS-UK.
