SORA stands for Specific Operations Risk Assessment. It is the safety methodology developed by JARUS, a group of aviation experts from around the globe, including the CAA.

The UK CAA is now developing a UK version of SORA v2.5 and it will be subject to industry consultation. Once adopted, UK SORA would replace the current safety methodology to build the safety cases of Operational Safety Cases OSC in the Specific Category. It will impact OSC holders but should not impact PDRA012 holders (to be confirmed!).
