In late December 2022, ARPAS-UK member AutoSpray Systems announced that they had just obtained an Operational Authorisation from the CAA in agriculture. This will enable them to operate drones over 25kgs and to use them to crop spray, tackle invasive species and shade Green Houses.
This covers agricultural, forestry and horticultural uses.
Andy Sproson, Director of AutoSpray Systems, said: “I would also like to thank Rupert Dent and Graham Brown of ARPAS-UK for help and guidance during this process. Past / present and future membership fees already more than paid for!
He went on to say: “I would also like to thank the Civil Aviation Authority for progressing the application much quicker than we ever thought possible. Not to mention our case worker who worked very hard and provided concise and helpful feedback along the way.”
How ARPAS-UK was able to help:
• Network of professionals to sense check with
• Board and committee members providing advice and passing queries and concerns to the regulator
• Routine funding and job opportunities
• Ability to talk confidentially with the most appropriate expert, ultimately leading to the one of the first OAs of its kind.
